Group History

Established in 1890, the Group started with trading in textiles from India.

• 1944 - AJM Kooheji became the first importer of British Cars into Middle East with such icons as Jaguar & Triumph.
• 1954 - The Group was appointed the exclusive distributor for Bridgestone Tyres.
• 1956 - The Group was appointed the exclusive distributor for PEUGEOT cars.
• 1960 - The Group became the first appointed distributor for Yamaha outboard motors outside Japan.
• 1962 - The Group was appointed distributor for Yanmar Marine diesel engines.
• 1973 - The Group diversified into Furniture, Textile and Carpet trading.
• 1982 - The Group was appointed the exclusive distributor for LG electronics and home appliances.
• 1985 - The Group started a joinery and furniture manufacturing factory in Bahrain.
• 1987 - The Group acquired “Faisal Investment Company” which holds a stake in the “Faisal Islamic Bank” in Cyprus.
• 1996 - The Group started a boat manufacturing unit in Bahrain.
• 2001 - The Group started a chain of multi brand automobile service centers in Bahrain.
• 2006 - The Group was appointed the distributors for, BKT off road Tyres & REEM batteries.
• 2007 / 2008 – The Group started PILING contracting business.
  • The Group started MEP contracting business.
  • The Group was appointed the distributor of Bridgestone tyres for Iraq.
  • The Group was appointed distributor for Chevron Lubricants for Iraq.
  • The Group started business operations in Libya.
  • The Group started business operations in Qatar.
  • The Group was appointed the exclusive distributor for KOBA batteries, CHEVRON, PETROMIN Lubricants, VTS CLIMA AHU units, MARRAZI, RAGNO tiles, ARAN Kitchens, NOVELLI Sanitary ware, EICHELBERG & NOBILIA Kitchens.
